At Gough Group we have an internal recruitment team who work with our nationwide network of branches to recruit and select the right people with the right skills and attitude.
We have a recruitment process that may be more in-depth than others you have experienced as we work to make sure that we only hire the best for our company and our customers.
Applications and Registration
All of our current vacancies are listed on our careers website, Facebook as well as other job boards such as Seek or Trade Me. We ask all applicants to apply online which requires you to fill out our application form and upload your CV & Cover letter.
We encourage all potential job seekers to register on our careers website for specific roles of interest. This way you will be advised directly of vacancies that fit your criteria as soon as they are listed.
Candidates who have made the short list for a role will initially be contacted for a phone interview. This may take between 15 – 20 minutes with one of our Recruitment Advisors. We like to find out more details about you such as the type of work you have been doing and why you are looking to make a change. This also helps you to understand if the role is what you thought it was and if you feel there is a fit for you with us.
Shortlisting, Second Interview, and Psychometric Testing
Once phone interviews are complete we will compile a short list with the manager to whom the role will report.
The next interview will generally be completed at the location where the vacancy has arisen and with the manager of the role.
In some cases we may choose to ask you to complete some psychometric testing. This will generally only be done where the role has a leadership component or the role is at a senior level.
Following interviews and psychometric testing (if required) we complete 2 reference checks and a pre-employment medical for the preferred candidate prior to making an offer of employment.
Throughout this whole process you will be kept up to date and informed of your application by our Recruitment team by phone and/or email.
This process may vary slightly within the business units and will also be role dependent. The more senior the role in the business the more detailed the process will be.
