In recent months, we have been strengthening our team to improve our service even further. We have appointed several new members to our team in senior roles in the northern region.

Neville JohnsonGough Cat is pleased to announce the appointment of Neville Johnson to the position of General Manager Sales & Marketing, based out of the Gough Cat branch at Wiri in Auckland.

Neville brings 37 years of experience in the industry with the majority of that in the Caterpillar dealer network. Originally trained as a Cat mechanic in West Australia, Neville has a background with capital equipment sales, equipment rental and rental services, dealer branch management and sales management. 

More recently he had five years as General Manager for Construction at the WA Cat dealer with ultimate responsibility for all channels of sales for new & used equipment, parts, service and equipment management solutions. Prior to moving to New Zealand in March, Neville also had responsibility for Cat on-highway truck operations in West Australia.

“I’m attracted to Gough's culture of customer service excellence, a passion I have always had strong beliefs in. Growth in key markets and the introduction of a number of new Cat product lines in 2015 provide great opportunities for the Gough dealership and I’m looking forward to being able to contribute positively to the business.” 

 

 

Chris McGuireNeville is joined in Auckland by Chris McGuire, our new Upper North Island Regional Manager who has more than 20 years experience with the Canadian Cat dealer, Finning. His energy, drive and deep knowledge of the Cat product will also ensure an improvement in our service to customers in the north.

Last but not least is new Auckland branch manager, Martyn Shirtliff. Previously Martyn held branch management positions at New South Wales Cat dealer, Westrac's Mt Thorley facility after originally completing his apprenticeship at Gough Cat in Nelson during the 1990's.
